Sea Shepherd Ireland was established in 2020 and became legalised under the name NPO Sea Shepherd Ireland in July 2021. Sea Shepherd Ireland is a chapter of the international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organisation, Sea Shepherd Global.
Our mission is to defend, conserve and protect marine wildlife in the sea around Ireland by putting a stop to the destruction of marine habitats, call for more Marine Protected areas and reduce the unnecessary slaughter of marine wildlife in the ocean via bycatch.

Sea Shepherd Ireland uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities in Irish marine territories. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd Ireland fights to ensure the survival of future generations in Ireland and around the world.
